East Village is on the eastern portion of Chicago’s West Town. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, the East Village was developed primarily by German immigrants and German Americans from 1870 to 1920, drawn to jobs in brewing and local businesses. a collection of living and dining on the west side of I-90. Grocery stores are within a mile of East Village with a Mariano’s along Chicago Avenue and a Jewel-Osco in Wicker Park Commons.

East Village is one of the most desirable parts of West Town, located between Wicker Park and Ukrainian Village. Condo prices tend to be higher than the broader Chicago average because of the neighborhood's walkability, restaurants, and proximity to downtown.
